Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology
The Department of Psychology at the University of Nevada Reno (http://www.unr.edu/psychology) has an opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in our APA-accredited clinical science program, starting in Fall 2016. Applicants must have completed a Ph.D. in clinical psychology or a related discipline, completed an APA-approved internship by the summer of 2016, and must be able to provide clinical supervision and be able to obtain licensure within two years of hiring.
We encourage all candidates with a strong research record in clinical psychology to apply. We are particularly interested in teaching and research interests that are broadly relevant to policy, theory, and/or practice as applicable to empirically supported integrated healthcare. The successful candidate will be expected to publish original research, seek/obtain grant funding, mentor graduate students, and teach graduate and undergraduate courses. The candidate will be an integral member of a diverse faculty in clinical psychology, whose current members engage in basic and/or applied studies of integrated healthcare, behavior medicine, health behavior, third wave treatment approaches (ACT, FAP, DBT), gerontology, MBSR, couples, trauma and adversity, and emotion. The orientation of the program is functional/contextualistic BT and broadly based CBT. The Department also has programs in Behavior Analysis and Cognitive & Brain Science. Collaboration across program areas is encouraged. The Department has state-of-the-art resources for research through a recently funded NIH Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) for Integrative Neuroscience, including functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), high-density EEG, and functional near infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS).

The University of Nevada, Reno, the land grant University and major research institution in the state, has a student body of more than 19,000. The University is situated in a metropolitan area of nearly 400,000 on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. Reno has four mild seasons and is a scenic half-hour drive to Lake Tahoe. It is 4-hour drive to San Francisco and the Bay area, Yosemite/Mammoth, and several CA wine districts. The Pacific Crest Trail is one of many local hiking/camping options, and top-notch ski areas abound.
