JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS at U of MN

The Center for Sexual Health is the sexuality specialty clinic located within the Program in Human Sexuality in the Dept of Family Medicine within the the U of MN Medical School.  We have over 1800 patients visits a month and, pertinent to some on this list serve, a vibrant gender services program for children and adolescents and their parents.    

Please see the following position announcements which involve both the above clinic as well as more research focused position within the broader Program in Human Sexuality. 

CLINICAL SCHOLAR
The Program in Human Sexuality in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Minnesota invites applications for a full-time clinical scholar. Applicants should have background and experience in treating one or a variety of sexual and gender concerns and a track record of scholarly activity pertaining to sexual health. The candidate would have a Ph.D or equivalent and be eligible for appropriate licensure in Minnesota. The Program in Human Sexuality provides a unique setting for conducting therapy and scholarly activity. They would join a vibrant interdisciplinary faculty of sexuality researchers and clinical scholars who have an interest in the broad range of human sexuality, including sexual dysfunction and disorders, transgender issues, child and adolescent gender and sexual issues, sexual offending, compulsive sexual behavior, sexual health education and HIV prevention. The Center for Sexual Health, within the Program in Human Sexuality, provides psychotherapy, psychiatric, and medical services to patients with numerous presenting issues. The position includes opportunities for clinical teaching, and supervision of post-doctoral fellows.

Associate/Full Professor
The Program in Human Sexuality in the Department of Family Medicine and Community Health invites applications for a full-time junior/senior/mid-career researcher. Applicants should have a program of NIH or other federal agency-funded research or a demonstrated ability to obtain peer reviewed research funding relevant to human sexuality. Faculty appointment is on the tenure/tenure track and requires extensive experience in research and publication in peer-reviewed academic journals. The preferred candidate would have a Ph.D., Psy.D., Ed.D. or MD with experience conducting independent, funded research. There are multiple opportunities for collaboration within the Department of Family Medicine, the Medical School, the Academic Health Center and other colleges within the University of Minnesota. The Program in Human Sexuality provides a unique setting for sexuality research, with and interdisciplinary faculty interested in the broad range of human sexuality, including sexual dysfunction, transgender issues, child and adolescent gender and sexual issues, sexual offending, compulsive sexual behavior, sexual health education and HIV prevention. The Center for Sexual Health, within the Program in Human Sexuality, provides psychotherapy, psychiatric, and medical services to patients with numerous presenting issues, including relationship and sexual dysfunction, transgender health, child and adolescent gender and sexual issues, sexual offending, and compulsive sexual behavior. Additionally, PHS has a psychophysiological laboratory that allows for cognitive testing and assessment of sexual arousal.
