Call for Nominations - Distinguished Scientist Award

The SSCP Distinguished Scientist Award is given each year to an individual (who need not be an SSCP member) who has made an extremely important career contribution to the science of clinical psychology. The most recent recipient of this award is Dr. William Iacono (University of Minnesota).  A list of previous award winners can be found on this website.

The award winner will be invited to present a talk at the APS or APA 2010 annual meeting and will receive a $1,000 honorarium.

Nominating individuals for this award is easy, and I strongly encourage you to do so.

Send an e-mail to both me and Tom Ollendick with the individual's name and CV, and a brief (1-2 paragraph) description of why you believe she or he is deserving of the award.  Specifically, it will be most helpful if you can describe the individual's accomplishments that are most relevant to the contribution to the science of clinical psychology.  Self-nominations are welcome.

Please e-mail nominations to both howard.garb@lackland.af.mil and tho@vt.edu.

Members of the SSCP board will review applications and select the award recipient.

The deadline for the award nomination is October 26, 2009.

Howard Garb, Ph.D.
SSCP President
