Faculty Positions in Addiction and Stats/Methodology at the Derner Institue, Adelphi University

The Gordon F. Derner Institute of Advanced Psychological Studies at Adelphi University in Long Island, New York seeks to enhance its roster of distinguished faculty through the addition of two colleagues to begin teaching in Fall 2014 with backgrounds in 1) Addiction and 2) Statistics, Psychometrics and Methodology:

1)     Addiction:  This is a tenure track assistant professor level position with experience in any area related to research and treatment of addiction.  We expect the successful candidate to either demonstrate an established program of research or the potential for establishing a successful program of research in addiction. We are also looking for a researcher who has the capacity to secure external research funding. Strong candidates will also have an interest in initiating and guiding undergraduate and graduate student research, and in interdisciplinary collaboration with clinical faculty.  The successful applicant will be expected to teach courses in addiction, psychopathology, and other courses related to the expertise of the candidate. 

2)     Statistics, Psychometrics, and Methodology: This is a tenure-track assistant professor level position.  We seek applicants conducting psychometric research and/or examining statistical and/or methodological issues.  Alternatively, the applicant could be conducting research in any substantive area of psychology (e.g., clinical, developmental) and have a strong background in statistics and methodology as well as the ability to teach advanced approaches to data analyses, including longitudinal approaches.  Expertise in MLM, HLM, and SEM are strongly encouraged.  We are looking for someone who can teach a range of statistical and research methods courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, and who is an active researcher willing to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with faculty.
