Johns Hopkins staff psychologist position in pediatric medical psychology

Johns Hopkins Hospital has an opening for a Staff Psychologist within the Pediatric Medical Psychology program. The ideal candidate will have strong assessment skills with a particular focus on children with
various emotional and behavioral disorders that also have co-occurring learning disabilities, cognitive delay, and developmental disabilities. In addition to strong assessment skills, individuals with training and/or experience involving pain management, medical non-compliance and evidence-based treatments of behavioral, anxiety, and depressive disorders will receive strong consideration. There are opportunities to work with pediatric medical specialty clinics as well as with children presenting with primary psychological disorders. This is primarily a clinical position; however, there will be research opportunities that are directly linked to demonstrating the clinical effectiveness and enhanced efficiency of the psychological services provided to patients seen through the Pediatric Medical Psychology program. Individuals who are license-eligible are encouraged to apply with the expectation that they will have an active Maryland Psychology License prior to being hired. The staff psychologist position offers a very competitive compensation and benefits package. The Pediatric Medical Psychology program employs several faculty psychologists in addition to staff psychologists and offers a very collegial, supportive environment. Weekly group meetings provide opportunities for peer support around clinical activities and didactics. Please contact Dr. Rick Ostrander at rostran1@jhmi.edu and please include ‘Staff Psychologist’ in the subject line. Also include a current CV and one sample report (de-identified).
