DESCRIPTION

The Psychology Program at Penn State Behrend, has an opening for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor beginning in Fall 2016. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in clinical or counseling
psychology and have expertise in child clinical psychology. Candidates who are licensed or license-eligible in Pennsylvania are preferred. Faculty will have the opportunity to be involved in the implementation of an anticipated M.A. Clinical Psychology program. The successful candidate will teach clinical psychology courses in his or her area and supervise practicum and thesis work. Both high-quality teaching and active scholarship are expected. Internal funds are available for faculty startup and professional travel. While the area of research is open, our program is developing a focus on empirically-supported treatments for trauma victims. Research and/or teaching interest in this
area is preferred. Faculty members are expected to participate in scholarly activity involving students. Experience in teaching or supervising graduate students, or graduate curriculum development, as
well as experience securing external funding, is preferred. The Psychology Department has laboratory space including a sound attenuating chamber, individual testing rooms, small group rooms, and observation rooms. Technology and library resources are excellent. Other resources
include an on-campus child care center and affiliation with applied research and outreach centers: the Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Organizational Research and Evaluation and the Prevention of Aggression Resource Center.
